The White Paper is an evidence-informed and evidence-generating provocation designed to promote deeper understanding of teachers’ work by proposing a holistic measure of teacher quality. The WtE team have written this paper as a public statement summing up our work to-date, to provide evidence of the complexity involved in being a teacher. As an important part of the paper, we also indicate the work yet to be achieved if the status of the profession is to be improved.
