CSIRAC was probably the first computer in the world to play music, although that was never developed. The music was never recorded, but it has been reconstructed to a very high degree of authenticity. A book documenting this, The Music of CSIRAC, included interviews of several of the original personnel involved with CSIRAC and the music. This paper fills out some of the stories and background left out of the book.CSIRAC was probably the first computer in the world to play music, although that was never developed.
