Technical Note: Real-time image-guided adaptive radiotherapy of a rigid target for a prototype fixed beam radiotherapy system.

Liu, P; Nguyen, DT; Feain, I; O'Brien, R; Keall, P; Booth, JT
Published 2018-10-01
PURPOSE: Fixed beam radiotherapy systems utilize couch movement and rotation instead of gantry rotation in order to simplify linear accelerator design. We investigate the ability to deliver fixed beam treatments with the ...

An interdimensional correlation framework for real-time estimation of six degree of freedom target motion using a single x-ray imager during radiotherapy.

Nguyen, DT; Bertholet, J; Kim, JH; O'Brien, R; Booth, JT; Poulsen, PR; Keall, P
Published 2017-12-01
Increasing evidence suggests that intrafraction tumour motion monitoring needs to include both 3D translations and 3D rotations. Presently, methods to estimate the rotation motion require the 3D translation of the target ...

Optimizing 4D Cone Beam Computed Tomography Acquisition by Varying the Gantry Velocity and Projection Time Interval

O'Brien, R; Cooper, B; Keall, P
Published 2013-03-01
Four Dimensional Cone Beam Computed Tomography (4DCBCT) is an emerging clinical image guidance strategy for tumour sites affected by respiratory motion. In current generation 4DCBCT techniques, both the gantry rotation ...

Optimizing 4DCBCT Projection Allocation to Respiratory Bins

O'Brien, R; Kipritidis, J; Shieh, C-C; Keall, P
Published 2014-10-01
Four dimensional cone beam computed tomography (4DCBCT) is an emerging image guidance strategy used in radiotherapy where projections acquired during a scan are sorted into respiratory bins based on the respiratory phase ...

Respiratory Motion Guided Four Dimensional Cone Beam Computed Tomography: Encompassing Irregular Breathing

O'Brien, R; Cooper, B; Kipritidis, J; Shieh, C-C; Keall, P
Published 2014-02-01
Four dimensional cone beam computed tomography (4DCBCT) images su er from angular under sampling and bunching of projections due to a lack of feedback between the respiratory signal and the acquisition system. To address ...

The first clinical implementation of real-time image-guided adaptive radiotherapy using a standard linear accelerator.

Keall, P; Nguyen, DT; O'Brien, R; Caillet, V; Hewson, E; Poulsen, PR; Bromley, R; Bell, L; Eade, T; Kneebone, A; Martin, J; Booth, JT
Published 2018-04-01
PURPOSE: Until now, real-time image guided adaptive radiation therapy (IGART) has been the domain of dedicated cancer radiotherapy systems. The purpose of this study was to clinically implement and investigate real-time ...

Development and commissioning of a full-size prototype fixed-beam radiotherapy system with horizontal patient rotation.

Liu, PZY; O'Brien, R; Heng, SM; Newall, M; Downes, S; Shieh, CC; Corde, S; Jackson, M; Keall, P
Published 2019-03-01
PURPOSE: Compared to conventional linacs with rotating gantries, a fixed-beam radiotherapy system could be smaller, more robust and more cost-effective. In this work, we developed and commissioned a prototype x-ray ...

Both four-dimensional computed tomography and four-dimensional cone beam computed tomography under-predict lung target motion during radiotherapy.

Steiner, E; Shieh, CC; Caillet, V; Booth, J; O'Brien, R; Briggs, A; Hardcastle, N; Jayamanne, D; Szmura, K; Eade, T; Keall, P
Published 2019-06-01
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: To test the hypothesis that 4DCT and 4DCBCT-measured target motion ranges predict target motion ranges during lung cancer SABR. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Ten lung SABR patients were implanted with ...

A six-degree-of-freedom robotic motion system for quality assurance of real-time image-guided radiotherapy.

Alnaghy, S; Kyme, A; Caillet, V; Nguyen, DT; O'Brien, R; Booth, JT; Keall, P
Published 2019-03-21
In this study we develop and characterise a six degree-of-freedom (6 DoF) robotic motion system for quality assurance of real-time image-guided radiotherapy techniques. The system consists of a commercially available robotic ...

Technical Note: In silico and experimental evaluation of two leaf-fitting algorithms for MLC tracking based on exposure error and plan complexity.

Caillet, V; O'Brien, R; Moore, D; Poulsen, P; Pommer, T; Colvill, E; Sawant, A; Booth, J; Keall, P
Published 2019-04-01
PURPOSE: Multileaf collimator (MLC) tracking is being clinically pioneered to continuously compensate for thoracic and pelvic motion during radiotherapy. The purpose of this work was to characterize the performance of two ...

Export search results

The export option will allow you to export the current search results of the entered query to a file. Different formats are available for download. To export the items, click on the button corresponding with the preferred download format.

Administrators can export up to 15000 items. Regular users can export no more than 500 items.

To select a subset of the search results, click "Selective Export" button and make a selection of the items you want to export. The amount of items that can be exported at once is similarly restricted as the full export.

After making a selection, click one of the export format buttons. The amount of items that will be exported is indicated in the bubble next to export format.
