This is an account of doing organisational-based research as engaged scholars and feminists and about how relating to ‘the client’ is crucial to the process. I first cover the two phases of my research and then conclude with some reflections on the lessons I’ve learnt as a researcher, starting from naïve beginnings to gaining, hopefully, a more mature approach and perspective on relating to clients and undertaking organisational case studies. This is an account of doing organisational-based research as engaged scholars and feminists and about how relating to ‘the client’ is crucial to the process.
