dc.description.abstract	This dataset comprises information based on preliminary reports for 601 accidents involving Royal Australian Air Force Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk fighter aircraft over 1942-1946. Based primarily on World War II documents held in the National Archives of Australia, this Excel spreadsheet includes information about the aircraft, event date, location, pilot, circumstances and causes of each accident. This dataset is part of Black Box Re-order: technology, air safety and Australian airspace, 1938-68 project.	en
