Existing road traffic noise models for a single noise receiver are developed with reasonably accurate estimating capability. If these traffic noise models can be incorporated into a network model then the resulting system would be a useful decision support system in transport planning. The key issue in developing a road traffic noise model at the network level is how to structure the basic traffic noise models in such a way that they can be flexibly re-used to construct more complex cases with many noise sources, noise receivers and noise barriers. This paper reports on the use of an object-oriented programming approach to address the identified issue.en_AU
