dc.description.abstract | Rice production has a long history in Korea and China and has substantially increased in recent times. These rises in yield reflect advances in hybrid rice technology, an improved plant type, better nutrient and farm management. During my visit many rice related issues of interest to Australia’s rice industry. In this report I have focused on reporting four key areas (climate change, cold tolerance, hybrid rice technology and aerobic rice) which I believe will have a major impact on rice production in Australia. It is vital that scientists around the world continue to collaborate on such areas to ensure global food security. Following my visit I am excited and looking forward to collaborating with scientists from Korea, China and others international organisations. | en |
