    • Modelling associations between neurocognition and functional course in young people with emerging mental disorders: a longitudinal cohort study

Crouse, Jacob; Chitty, Kate; Iorfino, Frank; Carpenter, Joanne; White, Django; Nichles, Alissa; Zmicerevska, Natalia; Guastella, Adam; Scott, Elizabeth; Lee, Rico; Naismith, Sharon; Scott, Jan; Hermens, Daniel; Hickie, Ian
      Published 2020-01-21
Neurocognitive impairment is commonly associated with functional disability in established depressive, bipolar and psychotic disorders. However, little is known about the longer-term functional implications of these ...

    • Mycobacterium marinum infection drives foam cell differentiation in zebrafish infection models

Johansen, Matt; Kasparian, Joshua; Hortle, Elinor; Britton, Warwick; Purdie, Auriol; Oehlers, Stefan
      Published 2018-11-01
Host lipid metabolism is an important target for subversion by pathogenic mycobacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The appearance of foam cells within the granuloma are well-characterised effects of chronic ...

    • Revisiting hypoxia therapies for tuberculosis

      Oehlers, Stefan
      Published 2019-06-17
The spectre of the coming post-antibiotic age demands novel therapies for infectious diseases. Tuberculosis, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is the single deadliest infection throughout human history. M. tuberculosis ...

    • Analysis of mycobacterial infection-induced changes to host lipid metabolism in a zebrafish infection model reveals a conserved role for LDLR in infection susceptibility

Johansen, Matt; Hortle, Elinor; Kasparian, Joshua; Romero, A; Novoa, B; Figueras, A; Britton, Warwick; de Silva, Kumudika; Purdie, Auriol; Oehlers, Stefan
      Published 2018-12-01
Changes to lipid metabolism are well-characterised consequences of human tuberculosis infection but their functional relevance are not clearly elucidated in these or other host-mycobacterial systems. The zebrafish-Mycobacterium ...
