    • Electron contamination modeling and skin dose in 6 MV longitudinal field MRIgRT: Impact of the MRI and MRI fringe field.

Oborn, BM; Metcalfe, PE; Butson, MJ; Rosenfeld, AB; Keall, P
      Published 2012-02-01
Purpose: In recent times, longitudinal field MRI‐linac systems have been proposed for 6 MV MRI‐guided radiotherapy (MRIgRT). The magnetic field is parallel with the beam axis and so will alter the transport properties of ...

    • Electromagnetic detection and real-time DMLC adaptation to target rotation during radiotherapy.

      Wu, J; Ruan, D; Cho, B; Sawant, A; Petersen, J; Newell, LJ; Cattell, H; Keall, P
      Published 2012-03-01
PURPOSE: Intrafraction rotation of more than 45° and 25° has been observed for lung and prostate tumors, respectively. Such rotation is not routinely adapted to during current radiotherapy, which may compromise tumor dose ...

    • Reducing 4DCBCT imaging time and dose: the first implementation of variable gantry speed 4DCBCT on a linear accelerator.

      O'Brien, R; Stankovic, U; Sonke, JJ; Keall, P
      Published 2017-06-01
Four dimensional cone beam computed tomography (4DCBCT) uses a constant gantry speed and imaging frequency that are independent of the patient's breathing rate. Using a technique called respiratory motion guided 4DCBCT ...

    • The first patient treatment of computed tomography ventilation functional image-guided radiotherapy for lung cancer.

      Yamamoto, T; Kabus, S; Bal, M; Keall, P; Benedict, S; Daly, M
      Published 2016-02-01
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Radiotherapy that selectively avoids irradiating highly-functional lung regions may reduce pulmonary toxicity. We report on the first clinical implementation and patient treatment of lung functional ...

    • Determining appropriate imaging parameters for kilovoltage intrafraction monitoring: an experimental phantom study.

Wallace, D; Ng, JA; Keall, P; O'Brien, RT; Poulsen, PR; Juneja, P; Booth, JT
      Published 2015-06-01
Kilovoltage intrafraction monitoring (KIM) utilises the kV imager during treatment for real-time tracking of prostate fiducial markers. However, its effectiveness relies on sufficient image quality for the fiducial tracking ...
