See moreGaining employment is frequently advocated as a key form of post-release support. However, with the rise of employment screening, the tightening of regulations around the security industry and a competitive job market (amongst other things), the prospects for recently released prisoners gaining employment has been eroded in recent times. Notwithstanding these issues, there are also many challenges faced by ex-prisoners in staying in poorly paid employment when the lure of easy money beckons. This seminar investigates these issues and explores post-release employment opportunities available to ex-prisoners. Speakers include Dr Bronwyn Naylor (Monash University)
