| dc.description.abstract | Books without barriers is a practical guide to understanding and preventing the barriers to reading that people with print disability encounter when their needs are not supported throughout the publishing process. The guide is in 4 parts – planning for inclusive publishing; developing content; describing images and tables; and producing accessible books – and includes checklists and templates for accessibility best practice and a glossary. This revised edition has a more international focus, incorporating the latest research worldwide as well as feedback gathered from users of the first edition. It addresses recent advances in accessibility implementation, including emerging technologies and the growing applications of generative artificial intelligence. Books without barriers has been carefully reviewed by specialists such as publishers and researchers working across digital, audio, tactile and print formats; individuals with print disability; and writers and editors across all publishing genres. The guide is written by members of the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) and co-published by IPEd and the Australian Publishers Association. | en |
