The language output of bilingual children is thought to be influenced by a number of
factors. “Parental/social input” and “the influence of the stronger language on the
weaker language” are two of the most widely discussed influencing factors. Many
researchers would agree that both of these factors contribute to the quality of language
output, however the level of significance attached to these influences, taken separately
