The increasing renewable penetration level significantly deteriorates system frequency control in the South Australia power system. A comprehensive and detailed dynamic simulation model is necessary to conduct the detailed frequency study to ensure system frequency security in the future. Currently, most frequency study is based on a single-mass model (SMM). This thesis builds a South Australia comprehensive and detailed grid model which could be used in minimum inertia analysis, frequency control study and AGC performance testing.en_AU
