The rise of video streaming services, or subscription video-on-demand (SVOD), has been transforming television globally. In Australia, the growth in demand for video streaming services has occurred in parallel with the growth in the number of Australian households with smart TVs. New issues have emerged as a result, including the discoverability of content, the future of locally-produced screen content, and a widening digital divide between those with and without SVOD services.The rise of video streaming services, or subscription video-on-demand (SVOD), has been transforming television globally.
