dc.description.abstractA written and illuminated book of plainchant music that contains the liturgical processions used by nuns at the Dominican convent of Saint-Louis de Poissy at the beginning of the sixteenth century, between 1500 and 1510. Major feasts (Purification, Easter Sunday, Ascension, Corpus Christi, St. Thomas Dominic, Assumption, St. Louis, Nativity of the Virgin) open with large ivy-leaf initials, while prayers and important chants begin with smaller ivy-leaf initials in blue and red with white penwork on rectangular grounds of burnished gold.en
