    • Dynamic Analysis of an Infinite Cylindrical Hole in a Saturated Porous Medium (No. R865)

      Lu, Frank; Jeng, Dong S.
      Published 2006
In this study, the dynamic response of an infinite cylindrical hole embedded in a porous medium and subjected to an axisymmetric ring load is investigated. Two scalar potentials and two vector potentials, displacements, ...

    • Exact and Approximate Solutions for the Flexural Buckling of Columns with Oblique Rotational End Restraints (No. R834)

Rasmussen, Kim J.R.; Trahair, Nicholas S.
      Published 2004
This report is concerned with the elastic flexural buckling of doubly symmetric columns with oblique restraints under concentric loading. Oblique restraints cause coupling between the principal axis deflections and rotations, ...

    • Compression Tests of High Strength Cold-Formed Cross-Shaped Steel Columns (No. R869)

Yap, Derrick C.Y.; Hancock, Gregory J.
      Published 2006
This report describes the experimental investigation of a series of compressive tests on a stiffened-cross shape section fabricated from cold-formed high strength steel of thickness 0.42 mm and nominal yield stress of 550 ...

    • Bifurcation of Locally Buckled Point Symmetric Columns-Analytical Developments (No. R866)

      Rasmussen, Kim J.R.
      Published 2006
The report derives the differential equations for the overall bifurcation of locally buckled point-symmetric columns. It is shown that flexural buckling about the minor and major principal axes are coupled in a locally ...

    • LiteSteel Beams (LSB) Under Interior and End Bearing Forces (No. R849)

      Yang, Demao; Wilkinson, Tim
      Published 2005
This report describes a set of bearing tests on a new range of cold-formed steel sections, LiteSteel™ Beam (LSB™), subjected to concentrated bearing load. LSB sections are manufactured using a unique dual resistance welding ...
