The year 2020 will mark a once‐in‐a‐century global event: the outbreak and pandemic of COVID‐19. On the 31 December 2019 the World Health Organization (WHO) reported a cluster of pneumonia‐like cases of a novel coronavirus zoonosis in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. The outbreak was due to a new or novel coronavirus, which would later be called Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2).The year 2020 will mark a once‐in‐a‐century global event: the outbreak and pandemic of COVID‐19.
