|Abstract:||This article questions the framing of Italian and other immigrant music traditions within Australian folklore studies. It discusses the fundamental diversity of regional musical cultures brought by Australia's immigrants from Italy and some examples of performances in various contexts in Adelaide in the 1970s and 1980s. Includes musical transcriptions and English translations of song texts.|
