A museum can function as a space to preserve documentation, enrich one’s knowledge of culture and history; spaces where stories can unfold and past and present coincide. ‘Rat Muzej’ is a War Museum and Memorial; a place where people can make sense of the past and make peace with it. The reflective nature of this space fosters an act of healing which can help the affected move forwards into the future. By incorporating a shallow pond through the centre of the museum’s exhibit, it evokes a reflective ambience as water imbues in the design a meditational quality. This design fuses the memorial and museum into one unified whole, whilst at the same time allowing for separate access between the two.en_AU
