See moreVenice is a city that has, in recent times, been increasing invaded by swarms of locust like tourists, who come by train, boat or car on a daily basis, staying usually for not more than a full day. They come in the morning and clog up the streets, taking every possible space in the narrow streets, lanes and canals, while causing a most riotous noise. For the unfortunate local permanent Venetians, there is neither relief nor respite from the daily grind of tourists. Venice has long been considered and treated as a “museum city”, a city where everything is on display, an exhibition, for the entertainment of their visitors. For too long, practically everything in Venice has been built or altered for the delight of tourists. “il parco giochi” aims to counter this trend and help propel the increasing force that is local Venetians get their idyllic city back. Providing young Venetians with a place of their own, they can enjoy the community facilities and socialising space that they deserve. “il parco giochi” will bridge the broken connection between youth and sports in Venice through the inclusion of a sporting club with activities including gondoliering and soccer. Shaded South facing ground floor space and balconies provide younger kids with warm, sunny and protected spaces where they can learn, develop and grow.
