This design for New York City’s library addresses this need, providing a place for people to gather and escape from the hectic city. Its focus on providing a relaxed atmosphere is expressed in the amount of open reading spaces creating a type of ‘lounge room in the city’. Permeating all aspects of the design, this concept indicates the path of library design into the future and subsequently will service to the community of New York for many decades.
