My design project is a cinema complex sitting on the canal axis of the city of Isfahan of Iran. It is a cinema especially for when film festivals are held, and only screens limited release films during other times. To maximise the experience, the stars can arrive by boat along the canal to arrive at the cinema, and there is an after-party area for socialising and the media, which sits just over the edge of the Isfahan waters. With a modern touch to the interior but still maintaining the Islamic exterior decoration that characterises Iran, it is definitely an icon of the clash of the cultures!en
