| dc.description.abstract | Backpacker hotel in Jerusalem Jerusalem is the capital city of Israel and it is largest city in population and area as well as it has great religious history, making it one of the famous tour spot. Due to the large numbers of the tourist, accommodation is one of the most important utility that the city must be obtained. The “Backpacker accommodation” in Jerusalem provides a joyful and informative space for a tourist to stay and rest. My site is situated at the end of the city. It gives several advantages on my building design which are great water view, wide place, and courtyard could be employed for variety activities. What I intended is situating areas that I placed similar function areas on the same place. For instance, servant and served function areas all are situated at the upside of the plan, while other private areas are located on the opposite side. One of the most interesting features of this building is the common area. Common area is situated in the centre of the building and this may provide great opportunity for the tourist to gain information and communicate with others. Additionally, bedrooms are assembled together at one spot which has nice view of canal. Unlike common area, all rooms have different size of roof which is made of tiles. There is also a larger room on the second floor. Since it is isolated on the second floor from the public areas the space is rather more private than any other rooms. It has greater view towards city and the bridge situated in front of the backpacker hotel. Rather than having a modern looking, this building is made mainly by a pale limestone with little windows. This traditional looking building may allow the tourists to engage more into the Jerusalem culture. | en |
