| dc.description.abstract | This thesis analyses the nature and distribution of archaeological sites, dated to the pre-Roman and Roman periods c. 700 BC to AD 200, in a study area encompassing the regions of the Midlands and northern England, in the United Kingdom. Historical and archaeological evidence from a variety of scholars was combined with the results of a geospatial analysis utilising Geographic Information Systems methods, to analyse change and continuity within the cultural landscape across both temporal and cultural divisions. | en |
