This chapter provides guidance on managing unhealthy alcohol use among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This includes care of those who are drinking above recommended limits, whether or not there is an alcohol use disorder present. Content of this chapter is based on both consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health professionals and communities and on published research. Much of the published research on treatment approaches among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples has been qualitative in nature.en_AU
