See moreThe aims of the present study were to identify genes related to human performance and to assess if these genes affect standard human athletic performance variables. These genes were identified using a combination of in silico search techniques and association studies. The selected genes were screened for known polymorphisms and for new polymorphisms using a combination of PCR, RFLP, SNP and DHPLC technology. The variants found in athletes were compared to control groups for differences and compared within athlete groups with multiple regression analysis for correlation with phenotypic data.
