dc.description.abstract | COVID-19, the disease caused by novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, has greatly affected financial markets, economies and societies worldwide. This study focuses on China and examines a series of issues including: the impact of COVID-19 on the Chinese economy, China’s policy responses to this shock such as fiscal, monetary and institutional measures, and implications such as the nature, gains and costs of China’s policy responses. This study also explores problems that need to be answered in the future. In view of the importance of China in the world regarding the size of its economy, its contribution to world growth, and its increasing influence, this study makes timely and important contributions to policy makers and investors around the world. | en_AU |
